Happy Canada Day

I am so Canadian that even my blood cells are red and white.

"I am fine now, really I am."

I was perhaps a little too optimistic or quick to call myself brain tumour-free.

"gee, your hair grows back fast"

I saw an old friend at the grocery store. 

We hadn't seen one another in a long while. Noticing that he was awkwardly trying to sneak a look at my hair that was pinned up, he finally stammered something about my locks and questions about radiation. He was curious whether I had a secret... perhaps he was just expressing concern and then relief when I took out the pins, shook my hair, evidence that I'm fine.

 I still have plenty of hair.

"if worst comes to worst"

Those that say "if worst comes to worst" a lot generally have a poorly developed imagination.

I never feel so beautiful as when someone who cares about me looks into my eyes or helps hold my head up.
